Set Apart: Becoming a Woman of Virtue in a Modern World – Ultimate Homemaking Bundle

Oh…that Proverbs 31 woman…She is something else, isn’t she?! Let’s see what is said about her…

10 [b]A wife of noble character who can find?
    She is worth far more than rubies.
11 Her husband has full confidence in her
    and lacks nothing of value.
12 She brings him good, not harm,
    all the days of her life.
13 She selects wool and flax
    and works with eager hands.
14 She is like the merchant ships,
    bringing her food from afar.
15 She gets up while it is still night;
    she provides food for her family
    and portions for her female servants.
16 She considers a field and buys it;
    out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.
17 She sets about her work vigorously;
    her arms are strong for her tasks.
18 She sees that her trading is profitable,
    and her lamp does not go out at night.
19 In her hand she holds the distaff
    and grasps the spindle with her fingers.
20 She opens her arms to the poor
    and extends her hands to the needy.
21 When it snows, she has no fear for her household;
    for all of them are clothed in scarlet.
22 She makes coverings for her bed;
    she is clothed in fine linen and purple.
23 Her husband is respected at the city gate,
    where he takes his seat among the elders of the land.
24 She makes linen garments and sells them,
    and supplies the merchants with sashes.
25 She is clothed with strength and dignity;
    she can laugh at the days to come.
26 She speaks with wisdom,
    and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
27 She watches over the affairs of her household
    and does not eat the bread of idleness.
28 Her children arise and call her blessed;
    her husband also, and he praises her:
29 “Many women do noble things,
    but you surpass them all.”
30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
    but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
31 Honor her for all that her hands have done,
    and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.

And how much of that did YOU do today?! I feel like I pretty much fall short by 7am every day!

Set Apart: Becoming a Woman of Virtue in a Modern World is a devotional from a group of women that set out to write an encouraging devotional, and what happened surprised even them. They gained new perspective on the verses they were writing about, on what God can accomplish when we work together in His will, and on just what that Proverbs 31 woman looks like.

Each day in this 28-day devotional includes:
Focus on one verse
A prayer
3 Goals (that vary each day, but relate to the verse)

Also included are:
Scripture cards
Word art
A complete study guide for the entire devotional

This devotional is beautifully laid out and would be perfect for group or independent study. Be sure to grab this bundle while you still can to get this study, among other fantastic ebooks!

I’m super excited to bring you a mini-review of a book from the Health bookshelf of the Ultimate Homemaking Bundle today!

Such great topics were shared throughout this book…Tammie Nelson, from SimpleHealthyTasty.com did a great job. Again, I felt like I was sitting with a friend while she shared all her secrets! 🙂

My Simply Healthy Life is jam-packed with recipes and pictures (this was super exciting for me, being such a visual person).

Bonus: Tammie is totally honest throughout her book. At the end of each section, she has a page: “To Make or Buy?” where she lays out the items in that section that are just easier to purchase (either due to time, cost or difficulty).

Topics Covered Include:
Herbal Remedies
DIY Cosmetics
DIY Cleaners

15 years of learning and research is packed into this incredible book.

One item I loved, which I never knew could be homemade – mascara! That I may have to try!

Using natural products around our home (whether purchased or homemade) is incredibly important to me, and I’m so thankful to have another resource on hand to reference when making certain products.

Real Food on a Real Budget – Ultimate Homemaking Bundle

Y’all. This ebook was SO good! And if it is any reflection of the other ebooks in the Ultimate Homemaking Bundle…buckle up!!!

There are SO many books in this section that I want to look through and ladies I want to learn from, but for today’s review, we’re focusing on Real Food on a Real Budget: how to eat healthy for less by Stephanie Langford from Keeper of the Home.

I will be the first to admit that we don’t eat super healthy. I mean, the boys and I can put away some fruit, and we love getting fresh meat and eggs as we can, but we’ve just never made it a priority in our family.

In her ebook, Stephanie does an amazing job breaking it down, and making it seem doable throughout the entire book. I felt like I was sitting in our kitchen with a friend while she just laid it out for me, encouraging me that we COULD do this on our {very tight} budget!

Topics included are :
Working with a Budget
Examining Options
Meal Planning
Buying in Bulk
Eating Local & Seasonal
Preserving
Tips, Techniques and Tools

I am really excited to sit down and put some of these practices in place and hopefully get us eating a bit healthier over the coming months!

As I said, this is just one of MANY books available in the Ultimate Homemaking Bundle! Be sure to get your Bundle before time runs out!

Character Badges – Ultimate Homemaking Bundle

Disclaimer: This post contains affiliate links. Thanks for your support!

Today I’m bringing you a brief review of Character Badges. This can be found in the Ultimate Homemaking Bundle in the Faith {for kids} section.

There are actually two versions of Character Badges. The one available in the Ultimate Homemaking Bundle is for ages 5-12. Little Character Badges, available from The Modest Mom, is for ages 3-5. So for review purposes, this is the 5-12 year old Character Badges!

Now that that bit of info is out of the way, let me add a disclaimer that we have not yet started this system with our children, but I will add that I can’t WAIT! I will be sure to update as soon as we get it in place and start working on some of these character traits!

So! Character Badges! I wasn’t really sure what to expect, but once I opened it, I knew it was exactly what we needed to help with some not-so-great attitudes and traits our boys have picked up (and that I, honestly, haven’t been diligent in correcting).

First, there is a handbook to guide you through the process and to provide some encouragement along the way. There is an Obedience Chart and a Disobedience Chart with lists of positive and negative character traits that you will be working on throughout the duration of the book, along with a Consequence Chart.

Then, there are badges for you to share with and to reward  your child when they are displaying the character traits you desire.

The part I absolutely love is the flashcard section with scripture that correlates to the traits you’re working on with your child – not only verses, but Biblical examples. (And in my head, I’m thinking of tying it into homeschool, and having them copy the verses as part of handwriting… 2-for-1 deal ya know?!) 😉

I’m really looking forward to implementing this very soon with our boys, and considering getting the Little Character Badges for our youngest who happens to love the phrase “no way, Jose!” and uses it more often than not. :-/

As I said, this is just one of many ebooks (78 to be exact!) that are included in the Ultimate Homemaking Bundle!
